Kareena Kapoor briefly played a mother in her debut film, JP Dutta’s Refugee, a decade ago. This week, she’ll step into Julia Roberts’ shoes to play a mother to three of her boyfriend’s (Arjun Rampal) kids with his ex-wife (Kajol) in Karan Johar’s We Are Family. Next, she turns a working mother in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One.

Ask her if she’s discovered maternal instinct and Kapoor admits, “I’m not prepared for motherhood right now. I’m still a kid and there’s time before I can drift towards marriage and family.” Does beau Saif Ali Khan agree with her? “I need to do a little more growing up first,” she smiles.

However, Kapoor says that Khan and she are pretty keen to get engaged. “But right now, Agent Vinod is our top priority. Saif is flagging off his company, Saif Ali Khan Productions, after its release. I’ve been appointed a director there. We’ll think about getting engaged after Agent Vinod,” she says.

Family matters
Kapoor, however, claims that she learnt a few practical and handy ‘momma’ tricks from co-star Kajol. “She is a fantastic actor. But since Kajol is a mother in real life, she understood her character Maya much better. I learnt a little bit about motherhood watching her put real life experiences to use in her reel life,” explains Kapoor.

She asserts that her character Shreya, unlike Maya, is focused on her career. When asked how Shreya was different from her character in Ra.One, Kapoor says, “Shreya is contemporary and real, and someone who doesn’t know how to be a mother. Ra.One has more to do with the superhero and the family and is not so much about the mother I play in it.”

Budding friendship
Bring up her blossoming friendship with co-star Kajol and Kapoor beams, “We both attach a lot of importance to family and relationships. We both go back home to people we love and value.”

The team of We are family will be gracing the quarter finale of India’s Got Talent. It is going to be indeed a star-studded night watching the show India’s Got Talent.

The stars of the film We Are Family, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor along with Karan Johar have joined the family of India’s Got Talent to promote their film. During the shoots, although they got little late because of the traffic, but it was worth waiting for participant to perform in front of such talented stars. They thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Kareena liked the performance of a Marathi rapper Pradeep Kaiskar, whereas BanjaraSchool’s Belly dancer stole Arjun heart.

It didn’t end here all the three guests also performed some belly dancing with the belly dancer from BanjaraSchool of dance, Delhi.
