Kareena Kapoor briefly played a mother in her debut film, JP Dutta’s Refugee, a decade ago. This week, she’ll step into Julia Roberts’ shoes to play a mother to three of her boyfriend’s (Arjun Rampal) kids with his ex-wife (Kajol) in Karan Johar’s We Are Family. Next, she turns a working mother in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One.

Ask her if she’s discovered maternal instinct and Kapoor admits, “I’m not prepared for motherhood right now. I’m still a kid and there’s time before I can drift towards marriage and family.” Does beau Saif Ali Khan agree with her? “I need to do a little more growing up first,” she smiles.

However, Kapoor says that Khan and she are pretty keen to get engaged. “But right now, Agent Vinod is our top priority. Saif is flagging off his company, Saif Ali Khan Productions, after its release. I’ve been appointed a director there. We’ll think about getting engaged after Agent Vinod,” she says.

Family matters
Kapoor, however, claims that she learnt a few practical and handy ‘momma’ tricks from co-star Kajol. “She is a fantastic actor. But since Kajol is a mother in real life, she understood her character Maya much better. I learnt a little bit about motherhood watching her put real life experiences to use in her reel life,” explains Kapoor.

She asserts that her character Shreya, unlike Maya, is focused on her career. When asked how Shreya was different from her character in Ra.One, Kapoor says, “Shreya is contemporary and real, and someone who doesn’t know how to be a mother. Ra.One has more to do with the superhero and the family and is not so much about the mother I play in it.”

Budding friendship
Bring up her blossoming friendship with co-star Kajol and Kapoor beams, “We both attach a lot of importance to family and relationships. We both go back home to people we love and value.”

The team of We are family will be gracing the quarter finale of India’s Got Talent. It is going to be indeed a star-studded night watching the show India’s Got Talent.

The stars of the film We Are Family, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor along with Karan Johar have joined the family of India’s Got Talent to promote their film. During the shoots, although they got little late because of the traffic, but it was worth waiting for participant to perform in front of such talented stars. They thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Kareena liked the performance of a Marathi rapper Pradeep Kaiskar, whereas BanjaraSchool’s Belly dancer stole Arjun heart.

It didn’t end here all the three guests also performed some belly dancing with the belly dancer from BanjaraSchool of dance, Delhi.

Golmaal 3 is another laugh riot but it has plenty of action too. Every star in the film has a thrilling introductory scene, and that includes Kareena Kapoor. The actress, who will be seen in a tomboy avatar, will make an entry with a fistfight that required her to balance on the bonnet of a car, speeding at 110 kms and then fly some feet off the ground.

Considering the risk involved, director Rohit Shetty himself decided to drive the car and ensured that his nervous leading lady was harnessed to a rod for safety. The scene, that was rehearsed about 10 times with a duplicate and another eight times with Kapoor, was okayed after four takes. “Today, I’m expected to create a new car chase for every film I do. Thank God I have a mad brain that comes to my aid,” laughs Shetty. After the two race sequences in Golmaal and Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3 has a chase that was filmed in Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

A funfair set spread over 15 acres was created for the pre-climax. Mithun Chakraborty, Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, a Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Kemmu, Kareena Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah, were part of the scene that had the goons speeding after them.

The highlight of the scene was six cars going 70 feet in the air and one of them crashing against a giant-wheel that was bought because they couldn’t get one on rent. Shetty is not ready to divulge how he made the cars fly. All he will say is that the stuntmen jumped off mid-way through and there was no one inside the car when it crashed.

Of course there’s nothing serious as such between these two…. But indeed Sanjay Dutt and Kareen Kapoor are gonna be a pair for a project.

Titled ‘Ek Anokhi Prem Kahani’, the film will be helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar, who earlier worked with Sanjay in ‘Vaastav’, and interesting part is that the love story revolves around a blind girl and a badly disfigured man.

With this film the cold war which was prevalent between Sanjay and Mahesh for some years has come to an end. The two had been thick friends when a dent came in their dosti due to some problems. And recently they reconciled at the IIFA awards in Sri Lanka.

Incidentally the film was finalized ten years back when Kareena made her debut in the industry. Manjrekar was impressed with Kareena’s then features, when she projected a pristine beauty and innocence. He shared that he needed her to play up against Sanju’s character.

But then the project was put on shelf following Dutt and Manjrekar’s fallout. However, ‘Ek Anokhi Prem Kahani’ is revived now and the filmmaker has no qualms about the difference that has been created in his lead pair’s appearance over the years.

“Though Kareena has matured in 10 years, I find the same quality of unspoilt beauty and grace in her. Sanju also has aged wonderfully. To me they still work as the characters in my love story,” Manjrekar went on to explain.

Wah kya kahani hai, kya jodi hai! Hope this fresh couple makes a difference on screen and on box office as well…. Lets wait and watch….
