Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor are coming to theatres near you on Diwali weekend with director Prem Soni’s romantic drama Main Aur Mrs Khanna. The movie is based on the real story of a couple Soni knew. But does a 43-year-old Salman look convincing as the husband of a 29-year-old Kareena in the film?

“The age difference between Salman and Kareena was never a consideration. They make an absolutely adorable couple and complement each other on screen,” Prem Soni is quoted by IANS as saying.

The movie tells the story of a couple who have different aspirations from their lives and marriage. The two stars even shared a few romantic moments before the camera.

“The film has romantic instances here and there, but it has a very subtle treatment. There are cute scenes in the film and both of them have carried them really well,” director Soni clarified.

For making his directorial debut in ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’, Soni has none else than Salman to thank. The actor did not think twice after hearing the script and immediately gave his nod.

“His reaction after the narration was overwhelming. All he said was, ‘I’m doing it’. That’s how the project began,” Soni said.

Kareena too loved the script when she heard it, but when she came to know Salman was the leading man, she came aboard.

“She loved the role and when I told her that Salman is doing the film, she said – ‘Why would I say no to Salman?’. She instantly agreed,” Soni disclosed.

We stumbled upon a poster of Karan Johar’s new production Kurbaan starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, on the Mumbai daily Mid-Day.

Directed by debutant director Rensil D’Silva (who co-wrote Rang De Basanti, the film is a romantic story against the backdrop of terrorism. Om Puri plays a terrorist, and the film also stars Vivek Oberoi.

Our sources say the film has some steamy lovemaking scenes. And, we must say, the poster looks very bold!

Kurbaan, shot in Philadelphia, Delhi and Mumbai, is scheduled to release on November 27.
